In My Mailbox #37

In My Mailbox is a weekly feature hosted by the wonderful The Story Siren where we get to drool with one another over the awesome books that came in the post this week!

HUUUUGE thanks to Putnam Juvenile. I was just expecting Black City, but instead they surprise me with 3 more of their amazing titles!! <3 I finished Black City the other day and it was so good. The world Elizabeth has crafted is so darkly thrilling and addictive. I have high hopes for The Waiting Sky because... well, TORNADO CHASERS! That is just so cool and dangerous and the story sounds like it's going to have a lot of emotional depth. I can't wait! So excited to dive into that and the other Putnam reads - I'm craving contemporary lately, so these will feed my hunger.

I started The Hunt today. I'm only a few chapters in and already it is WOW. Creepy and intense and you just don't want to stop reading, but you have to cook and shower and do all that (apparently) necessary crap. BOO LIFE. I got The Hunger Games Movie Companion last week. I haven't read it properly yet, but I have flicked through it... and it makes me want to go see the movie all over again! *grabby hands at dvd release*

What yummies are in your mailbox this week?

I had an AWESOME book week, so to hopefully make two more people have an equally awesome week...  I consulted with random.org and the two winners of the Elemental ebook (the AMAZING prequel short story to the AMAZING Storm by Brigid Kemmerer) are.... Mimi Valentine and Nikki Donoghue! Congrats, girls! I'll be emailing you soon. And everyone else - GO BUY ELEMENTAL! And preorder Storm while you're flashing that shiny credit card ;)

  3. Awesome books! I also got The Hunt this week :D Looking forward to reading it. The Waiting Sky and The Right and The Real both look great too!

And The Hunger Games... oh my love. I want to go see it a fifth time. Oh wait! I downloaded it (you know, the crappy and blurry, awful sounding recording of inside a cinema). But that’s because I don’t care what the image is because I JUST WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!

    1. YOU. THE HUNT. MUST READ. SOON! I have a feeling it's gonna shape up to be infreakingcredible.

NAUGHTY BRAIDEN! But I... er... may know someone who streamed a copy and watched again, but for the sake of remaining on the good side of the law - IT WASN'T ME. I want to see it again in all it's HD glory though, so methinks another cinema visit is on the cards before it's over!

  26. Okay, DUDE. Not going to lie but my focus eclipsed to all else but Black City. HAVE YOU READ IT ALREADY? How was it? What happened? What can you tell me that won't spoil the whole thing? Did you love it? OMG, TELL ME MORE. And I'm totally jealous of The Waiting Sky. It just sounds SO FREAKING AWESOME. I really like the cover but the premise is what is making me so impatient to read it.

And in response to your comment:

    1) My sister loves Eyore more, but I love him too so I stole that sweater from her

    2) We should totally read Fire about the same time, so let me know when you read yours (and Sarah is da bomb, btw. XD)

    3) The gate that bars my cat from my room fell. That means my cats have broken in.

    4) REQUEST VELVETEEN ON NETGALLEY NOW!

    5) I HAD AN AWESOME TIME AT THE BOOK SIGNING.

    6) I'm convinced somewhere in my mom's side of the family there once lived a vampire. My mom and younger sister are just too pale to not have a vampire ancestor XDD

AND I LOVE YOU TO BITS AND PIECES!! :D One day I'm going to visit you in Australia.
