Owl Post #16

Inspired by The Story Siren's In My Mailbox, Owl Post allows me to excitedly share all the yummy books I get in the mail each week! Owl's are much faster and more reliable than sneaky postmen, and the common way for magical folk to send and receive letters and parcels.

Since I haven't done an Owl Post in a while, these are my books from the past couple of weeks:

This week:
The Skeleton Key by Tara Moss
Tara Moss is a name I hear quite often, but I generally associate her with adult crime fiction, a genre I don't usually indulge in. I hear this series has hints of supernatural though, so maybe I should check out the first two books?

After reading Keertana's amazing review, I have been DYING DYING DYING to read this! Did I mention: DYING?! Fortunately, I have an INCREDIBLE library. So excited to start it!

This was a surprise when I opened the package, because it's not often Australia releases books in hardcover, so it must be something special. I hadn't heard of it before, but after reading the summary and first few pages, I am really intrigued to continue! Hopefully I can get to it soon.

What have the owls delivered to you this week?

  2. AAAHHH! SUCH an amazing haul this week, Brodie! I'm so excited you got a copy of The Dark Light - I really hope you enjoy it! I know I recommended it to Sam from Realm of Fiction as well and she wasn't as blown away by it as I was, but I sincerely do hope you love it! :) Also...THE DIVINERS! Yet another one of my FAVORITES! I'm so jealous of the Aussie cover of yours and I love you really enjoy it, dear. It thoroughly entertained me and I'm already looking for an excuse to re-read it! ;) I've heard a lot of things about your other novels, but not having read Kami Garcia, Rachel Caine, Becca Fitzpatrick, or Ally Condie's previous works, I doubt I'll pick them up. I really hope they're all fantastic conclusions though as I know those can be especially tricky to write. Anyway, glad to see you back and happy reading, dearest! :D (Also, thanks for the link!)

  3. I never knew before that Australia doesn't often produce hardcover books. Do they produce paperback instead? if so, I love australia because paperbacks are my favorite type of book layout. :0

Enjoy all your new books Brodie!!!!!!!!!! I started the Dark Light awhile ago and found it entertaining, must start reading it again when i have time.
    Ketchup cloud- love the name!

  7. *o* So much awesomeness! You got Breathe! And Reached! And The Diviners! GAHH, everyone has loved The Diviners so far and now I really want to read it and just oh my god, I'm in love with the spine <3 Is that weird? And eeeeep! I'm so jealous of your hardcover of Ketchup Clouds! I got the ARC so it's in paperback, therefore not as special :S But whatever, I hope you enjoy all the FABULOUS books you got these past few weeks! :D

  11. I noticed you get paperbacks. Is it because there aren't that many hardcover ones in Australia or do you just prefer them? I want to read Finale so bad and The Dark Light has been on my TBR list foreveeeerrr, so definitely need to check that one out. Hope you enjoy and happy reading :)

  16. BRO! DIE! (That's not die, by the way, it's "dee". Just so you don't think I'm giving you death threats, I'm just excited by your books). BITTER! BLOOD! It was SO good, but I believe you haven't started this series yet? You must! Must, must, must! It's amazing! Please read this series, at at least the first book! For me? I'll read whatever you want me to read if you read Glass Houses. Promise!

Finale! Breathe! Diviners! Ketchup Clouds! All books I have received over the past few weeks (or months, in the case of Diviners) that I'm looking forward to or intrigued about because of reviews! Looking forward to your reviews of these :)

And Severed?! YOU HAVE SEVERED?! Damn, I dipped out this time, it seems. Oh well! Happy reading, lovely!

  21. Girl, you got some AWESOME books! I have to say, I'm so curious about Reached! I didn't enjoy Matched all that much - it just felt flat to me so I haven't read book two. But I want too at some point. And Breathe is an amazing read. Hope you enjoy them all.
