(Oh, hello again!) Owl Post #20

Inspired by The Story Siren's In My Mailbox, Owl Post allows me to excitedly share all the yummy books I get in the mail each week! Owl's are much faster and more reliable than sneaky postmen, and the common way for magical folk to send and receive letters and parcels.

Netgalley:

Owl deliveries for the past two weeks:
I'm not going to go through these all individually this time, but suffice it to say I AM EXCITED TO READ THEM ALL. I have finished Through The Ever Night and *EXPLODES* <3333 Review is a'coming.

Swapped with the awesome Holly:

^ If any other Aussies  are interested in swapping books, be sure to check out the Aussie Swap group on Goodreads! My swap list can be found here.

Sooooooo, hello! IT'S SO VERY NICE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN! You might have noticed that I haven't really been active around here for a while. During that (no doubt devestating) absence, I went through a "do I keep blogging? Do I stop blogging?" tennis match in my head. I think the break was good for me and made me want to try to do things a little differently. Mainly to figure out a more effective reviewing/commenting system for myself. I have no idea what that is yet, but I'm working on it. So I should hopefully have some reviews soon and will swinging by your sexy blogs within the coming days to see what I've missed.

Anywhoooooo, I've missed you all! Read any amazing books lately? Have you read/loved any of those above? Want to share what your own owls have delivered this week? Let me know!

  2. Through the Ever Night was amazing, right?! I loved it so much. I can't wait to see what you think of Unravel Me, too. I had some mixed feelings romance-wise, but I really enjoyed that one as well.

And, Brodie, don't leave! I won't let you! You're such a valued member of the blogging world - I'd be devastated to see things stop over here... But definitely take all the time you need! Don't do anything you don't want to and I hope you can work out a new approach that makes things easier for you. Post less regularly if you need to, but please don't disappear altogether! You will be missed if that happens. :)

Awww, thank you Sam! I appreciate that <3 I really felt like it was time to move on from blogging, but then it was a combination of amazing bloggers + reading the right books and I just didn't want to let it go. So I'm sticking with it for now, hopefully with a better approach than last time!

    1. I'm going to reply here to your reaction:

I LOOOOVED Brave! Disney/Pixar can't do anything bad in my eyes, but the graphics are gorgeous. Her hair is so flowy throughout the movie and they did a great job with that. And I totally fell in love with the accents (L)

I didn't see the twist in this story coming and first it was a bit weird, but after a while I really appreciated it :D If you want to find more animation movies, just mail me! I can give you a list with movies I really like, since I watch a lot of them :)

& How to train your dragon is awesome. I believe they are making part two!

  24. Hi Brodie! Before I even get started on how awesome your recent book haul is, I need to say a formal "Hey, nice to meet you!" because I only just discovered Eleusinian Mysteries (gasp!). You have a wonderful blog, and your header is seriously stunning *turns green with envy!* I've just been going through your posts, and I'm sorry to say you're stuck with me now!

Your haul is fabtabi-dastic! (that's my made up word. A mix of Fabulous and Fantastic, I think!) aaaah you have The Raven Boys + Scorpio Races!!! You're very lucky! I am such a massive fan of Maggie Stiefvater, and although I have TRB and SR on my bookshelf, I just haven't picked them up yet. I'll have to soon though.

I LOOOOVE Jennifer Echols! I hope you enjoy both of the books you've recently swapped for.

Enjoy all of your books, Brodie. I'll be stalking your blog and keeping an eye out for your reviews of all these wonderful books! It's been lovely finding you and your blog :)xxx

  30. All I can say is: BRODIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I was wondering where you went, but I'm so, so glad to see you back. Also, omg, The Indigo Spell! And Angellfall! Yes, yes, yes. All excellent things but, above all the fab books, your return! <33

    ReplyDelete
  31. Under the Never Sky! Sqeeee! After commenting here, I'm off to stalk your review ^__^ Seriously, what a book haul! Also: Jennifer Echols books? Yay and I APPROVE. I've yet to read Such A Rush yet (naughty me!) but I LOVE Going Too Far. It's probably my favourite Echols books and it's so good and steamy and hot and John After. ♥ I hope you enjoy all your books and I absolutely can't wait to see what you think of Jennifer's books :D The Indigo Spell - YES, YES, YES. I can't wait to read it!

And Brodie: During that (no doubt devestating) absence, I went through a "do I keep blogging? Do I stop blogging?" tennis match in my head. I SO get that. I do, oh, I do. It's a tennis match I've had in my head many times before but recently was worse than ever which was when I decided to take a break late last year. It can be a pain and stressful and sometimes you don't feel in the mood to blog but you know what? I can't imagine not blogging. I think of my life before blogging and I just... It's being able to share your love of reading and books with others like you and learning of all these books which are to release in the future or ones you've never heard of before and discovering new genres but it's the COMMUNITY and the amazing bloggers like YOU that makes it what it is. It's supportive and loving and though it can be dramatic at times, I can't imagine my life without my bloggy friends and their awesome wackiness. If it means posting less, co-authoring a blog, changing how you review, expanding your horizons and what you blog about - WHATEVER - do it. Blogging can be, and is, awesome but you've got to make it work for YOU. If you're happy and enjoying yourself, others will be happy too. So even though it FREAKS me that you were really, truly thinking of not blogging anymore, I GET it because I've had the same thought and tennis match in my head before.

I'm SO happy you're back and I hope you get into a nice groove and change the things you want to. If you're happy, I'm happy - and I think all your minions will be too :D

    ♥♥

Sorry for the long, long comment but I get a little carried away when it comes to you ;)
