2012 Author Interview & Giveaway: Cat Patrick!

You still have a little time to enter to win an ARC of COLD FURY by T.M Goeglein! I'll end the giveaway Monday 28st November 11:59pm US EST. Hurry!

Introducing apocalyptic author #3 -  an incredibly talented writer who will not be soon Forgotten, even if she's gobbled up by zombies... Cat Patrick!

Why should Santa fill every stocking this year with a copy of Forgotten?
That would be so nice of him! Well, in my humble opinion, FORGOTTEN’s a great gender-neutral crossover book that appeals to readers of all ages. What’s more, it offers both romance and mystery to keep those pages turning.

What is the best or worst Christmas gift you've ever received?
I found out I was having twins just before Christmas 2007: That was the best gift ever.

What's been your favourite YA novel of 2011?
Hmm…a 2011 debut or just one I read in 2011? For the former, I’d have to say Divergent by Veronica Roth. That one kept me up late at night, dying to know what was going to happen. For the latter, The Maze Runner by James Dashner. It was so gripping from the first page to the last—it launched in 2009 but I only just read it and I’m so glad I did.

(That made me seem dystopia-obsessed. I also loved The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler, and the sweet Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Whitaker, which comes out in January.)

And your most desperately needed of 2012?
I’m looking forward to reading the sequels to Beth Revis’s Across the Universe and Veronica Roth’s Divergent. On the adult front, I can’t wait for what’s next from Patrick Rothfuss.

Do you have any plans to survive and/or fight in the 2012 Apocalypse? (this covers any apocalyptic belief-system... zombies, aliens, mother nature seeking revenge, assassin automatons, Klaus and his hybrids from The Vampire Diaries, etc).
At the moment, I’m planning to stick to reading, not writing, dystopian novels. However, I do worry about zombie attacks in real life on an (alarmingly) regular basis.

Cat is the author of 2011 debut novel, FORGOTTEN and has a second novel coming out in 2012, REVIVED.
As a little girl, Daisy Appleby was killed in a school bus crash. Moments after the accident, she was brought back to life.

A secret government agency has developed a drug called Revive that can bring people back from the dead, and Daisy Appleby, a test subject, has been Revived five times in fifteen years. Daisy takes extraordinary risks, knowing that she can beat death, but each new death also means a new name, a new city, and a new life. When she meets Matt McKean, Daisy begins to question the moral implications of Revive, and as she discovers the agency’s true goals, she realizes she’s at the center of something much larger — and more sinister — than she ever imagined.
I remember forwards. I remember forwards, and forget backwards. My memories, bad, boring, or good, haven't happened yet. So I will remember standing in the fresh-cut grass with the black-clad figures surrounded by stone until I do it for real. I will remember the funeral until it happens - until someone dies. And after that, it will be forgotten. Here's the thing about me: I can see my future, but my past is blank. I see the future in flashes, like memories. I remember what I'll wear tomorrow, and a car crash that won't happen till this afternoon. But yesterday has evaporated from my mind - just like the boy I love. I can't see him in my future. I can't remember him from my past. But today, I love him. And I never want to forget how much.

Revived is released May 8th 2012 by Little Brown US / Hardie Grant AU

Laura @ A Work of Fiction

    2. I've seen Revived around (it's hard to miss THE AMAZING COVER), but this is the first I've read the blurb. I'm adding it to my TBR competition or no competition :D

    3. Ahhhh, I know I can't enter b/c I'm in the USA, but do you know a site with decent prices that ships internationally with Aussie covers? Book Depo never has the Aussie covers and this is one book I REALLY want to buy with that cover!! lol

    4. Laura - It is SOOOOOOO amazingly awesome! GOOD LUCK!

Sarah - Hehe, yay!! I'm beyond excited to read Revived, judging by what I've already seen of her writing and the intriguing premise, it's going to FANTASTIC.

Bonnie - The only site I know of that offers free international shipping and stock the Aussie cover is - but compared to the book depository, it's not overly cheap :/ Sucks that book depo won't sell the gorgeous Aussie version!!
